State Of Texas Executes Man With 61 IQ

Late Tuesday night in Huntsville, Texas, all that was left of Marvin Wilson was the story he left behind. Wilson was executed although he was mentally retarded. As long as we stand by and do nothing, there will be many more "Marvin Wilson's." More on the story after the jump.

His execution was carried out for a murder conviction with the crime dating back to 1992. A neuropsychologist which was appointed by the court testified that Wilson only had an IQ of 61 and that he was "intellectually disabled," according to the American Civil Liberities Union of Texas.
Wilson was put to death by lethal injection.

  1. Meanwhile, after killing mulitple people, the shooter in the Colorado theater will FAKE mental illness. And not only will he not die from lethal injection, he will not serve time in jail. This is a problem.

    1. Yes; a huge problem that the Supreme Court did not step in and stop the execution of a mentally retarded man. Something has to change, or it will continue to happen.
